A new series of paintings by Korean artist Chung Suejin will be on view at Arario Gallery in New York, March 30 to April 6, 2009. Artist reception will be held at the gallery on Thursday, five / 18 to March 21

Chung require an analytical approach to painting which was presented as “a visual language that exists in a dimension completely different from the letters or words.” The multi-layer fabrics and saturated colors of the media that it has lots of weird people, the different body parts, shapes, symbols, and food. Although his paintings seem to result from the free association, they are mathematically and theoretically complex compositions of both figurative and abstract spaces, indoor and outdoor . Chung suggests that to understand painting is to understand the multidimensional nature of human consciousness. “So,” she writes, “we should not ask what [the] painting is more.”
